Senior Content Producer

Description

Varsity Networks is seeking a Senior Content Producer to conceive, write, develop, and edit highly interactive, customer-focused editorial content that appeals to the local high school sports audiences and increases traffic to the web site. This position must also design special online features, create multimedia content, and occasionally write or edit breaking-news stories.

Qualifications / Experience

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a major in journalism, communications, English or related field plus three years online editorial copywriting, editing or relevant journalistic experience; related newspaper experience a plus. Candidates also must be internet-savvy (i.e. can build web pages) and passionate about the web and creating opportunities for user interaction and compelling storytelling on all platforms. Must have strong Web production skills; the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment; and a positive, innovative attitude. Intermediate to advanced Photoshop, editing and html skills required. Flash and video experience is also required. Knowledge of AP style or other house style guidelines strongly preferred. Must be able to work extended hours, as needed.
